Have a set of these on my winter bike for ahem 10 years now!- I haven’t been keeping up with gear etc but I only punctured twice in all those years. Both tyres have big flat spots on them and I guess it’s time to replace so what would ye recommend? Are gatorskins still a thing even?

yes Gatorskins are still on the go. Or if you’re feeling fancy, you could go for Gator Hardshells

ten years out of a pair of tyres is good going…

Gators are lethal in wet conditions, had them on a bike years ago, had a lucky escape on a wet spin and took them off, staying upright far more important than punctures.

Schwalbe Durano Plus for me - average about 1 puncture per 5,000k. (I used to run Gators but after a few butt clenching moments in the wet, I lost faith in them).

Tried Conti 5000 and 4 Seasons but punctured regularly in them (although they do roll beautifully).

Always found the Durano plus a great puncture proof as much as possible tyre can be a little harder to put on the first time but seem straight forward enough after a bit .They cost a good bit less than the Conti ones even if the rolling is not as good but at my level that is not an issue .

    GP 5000 all year round

Yes indeed. A puncture is quicker to fix than a collarbone.
