My Son is in 5th year and construction studies is his favourite and best subject, he want wants a career in construction & carpentry. He did great on his JC, BUT we were told this week, the construction studies teacher left suddenly in Sept, and they have not been able to recruit a replacement, so the subject is being dropped, and he has to choose a new option on the timetable, biology, music or politics......none of which are useful for his career path, and not compatible with additional learning needs .. he is devastated as are his classmates. We are now desperately trying to figure out if it is a subject he can do as a homeschool, with grinds, how can he manage the practical part. We have a possible grind we found on studyclix, and he has a workshed at home with all the tools as its a hobby too, so he spends his weekends making things, but the school won't even allow him access to the school resources for insurance reasons........are the school not at least obliged to help him continue the subject by himself... any advice appreciated
