    Hi folks,

Have a unifi dream router 7, one u7 pro xg access point running off the dream router with a poe++ adapter..all working fine.

Wanted to add another u7 pro xg and use the same network cable from the udr7..so I ordered a usw-flex 46 watt switch and a couple of patch cables and another u7. The problem is when I plug in the usw it appears it won't appear for adoption until I plug in the two u7s to it. It then pops up for adoption but won't adopt. Keeps looping around saying adopting. Tried factory reset a few times but still no joy. Interesting I tried connecting it closer to the udr7 and it adopts there ok over a 3 foot cable with poe injector. I'm not convinced it's a cabling issue though as the cable I have running up to the attic where I wanted to place the switch is running one of the u7 pros fine..you'd think if it can run the access point it could run the switch?

I Googled and seems like a common enough issue with th flex. Bought from unifi so will be onto support.

    Cheers,

    Mick

Turned out was a cable issue. New cable sorted
