Solis Inverter prevent battery discharge at certain times

    Hi,

    Like many, I have set my battery to charge from the grid between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.; however, it is often below 50% by 10 a.m.

    I have cheaper electricity between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., so I believe my setup should be:

    1. Charge the battery between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.
    2. Use the grid between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.;
    3. Use the battery from 7 a.m. onwards, when the grid rate is higher.

    To enable my Solis inverter to do this, I think I need to create another time window between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. where the battery charges from the grid, possibly at a lower charge rate.

    Is this the correct approach, or is there a better way?

    (Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't see anything obvious).

    Set the battery to charge between 2am and 7am, (at enough current to ensure is is fully charged in your 2hr cheap window by 4am. i.e. 90A for a 10KWh battery with 90% DOD)

    While it is 'charging' (not really!) between 4am and 7am, it wont be able to discharge.

    you can set a discharge window from 4-7am but set the discharge current to 0 amps. This will prevent it charging or discharging as I understand it.

    Thank you both.

    What I did in the end was create a separate charge window, so I can easily turn it off in the summer when the sun rises early.
