I just noticed this new feature /tab on Google. Is there any way to disable it? It just gets in the way where it is top left...probay deliberate placed there to get hits. I am on android.

I tried the Chrome flags route as recommended on various threads on other forums to no avail.

Life for me is perfectly fine without.AI enhanced searches.

AI tabs/buttons are appearing everywhere, driving me mad.

Same as you, I am perfectly happy without it, but it seems to be becoming unavoidable, which i find very depressing.

I make a conscious effort to avoid the AI generated result for Google searches, but that's about the height of it.

You can actually switch of AI in Google Search by typing -ai at the end of your search phrase. As far as I can tell there is no way to permanently disable it in the browser. Not sure if it works on a phone. I've also switched to DuckDuckGo for search.

Thanks for replies. Folks with more tech savvy than I post that tmit can be done via chrome flag. Google disable ai mode on google..

It did not work for me as I can't find the experiment "AI Mode Omnibox entrypoint"

I also use Duck and Go now as well as Brave to avoid tracking. Brave is a good way to avoid that (by design) awful Consent Management Platform that Google offer to sites. The one where you have to manually turn off legitimate interest consent for granularally for all 'partners' where it shoud switch them all off when you object to legitimate interest processing.

DuckDuckGo is as bad as all the rest - "AI" results at the top of almost every search now.

Well, I will try to keep in my future, not my present for as long as I can. I have no interest in ai overviews or it's like. Google worked quite well before It. You can say no, or not engage with AI.

Have you heard of our Lord and Saviour, udm14.com? It strips away that AI crap from Google searches, like this.
