    Hi folks.

Inquiring for a Sports Club here. At present the clubhouse has no security cameras and no payment system for people to enter the course. There is no broadband or wifi at the clubhouse. I could apply to NBI and have fiber brought to clubhouse or else I could get a router. What is the best option?

Secondily, I want to put a Revolut payment system in place to send payments into the club from phone number or bar code on clubhouse door. Would the router sim do this or would we need a separate sim?

    Thanks to all in advance.

    Jim.

Would you not like at getting a sum up machine for payments?

Hi. Thank you for your reply. We need a system so people coming to the course can pay and play. There is no one on the cousre to take payments. People have the option to put cash into a greens fee box but lots of people do not carry cash now.

    Is there a 5G signal?

If so, Three will stick an aerial high up for best signal and link it to a router. At present its €20 a month for 6 months and then €39 - but there is a bult in price increase of €3 a year, so next April it would be €42 a month.

I use it at home. Absolutely perfect for what I want and speeds are in the range of 60mb - 150mb and we're about 1.5km from the mast.

and then get something like this - you cna choose a variable amount which is entered by the user or you can have a set fixed amount - eg €5.

if it's on an honesty basis, just print out your Revolut QR code and stick it to the door. Doesn't require any connection. The forthcoming instant payment system from the Irish banks may have something similar.

The broadband is required for CCTV.

One issue with Revolut is they don't do club accounts. (also not everyone has a revolut account) So that would be an issue as its unwise to use a personal account for club facilities. Sum Up on the other hand will allow Club accounts and can be used as a bank account with full IBAN facilities.

If a club already has a bank account, then the tap & go would be the easiest option.

Forget NBI and jut get a starlink system for broadband. it'll run cameras for you.

You can have offline cameras without internet. Is someone really going to review the cameras live and act on the footage?

As mentioned payment/donate terminals with built in phone SIM cards are available.

You could also get a mobile broadband box such as three. The main issue with any broadband type service is you are looking at paying at least 15 euro a month, possibly 50+ for fibre based. Would it really pay to have live CCTV versus the risk of vandalism Vs the risk no one will act on the live footage? You are better off having local recording anyway, as some remote systems do not store locally do do not store when internet is down.

Proper vandals/ thieves will cover their faces and be in and out quick.

Thats great folks. Thank you. Im thinking of getting a router, put a sim in it for the cameras. Payment system maybe via barcode from Treasures phone…
