GUI Rates

Probably a post made on this before but I can't find it.

I'm wondering if there is a list out there that shows the GUI rates for some of the larger clubs out there.

It's something I've never looked for, as outside of my home course, I would do a lot of booking via GolfNow. The choice on there is getting pretty poor so want to start taking advantage of the GUI.

Is it poor form to ring up and ask a club if it's not listed on their website? Or is this something that's an unwritten rule and done on the regular?

I usually just email or phone the club, no issue with it.

I did that a while back and I was told 'listen, the price is the price'. Perhaps the chap hadn't had his weetabix.

Is there a collated list anywhere? I imagine there is some crazy value to be had if I was to look.

Lots of course websites are poor, constantly blocked for Internet booking, you'll just have to phone up the ones you are interested in, I do it the whole time

My stuff on Adverts, mostly Tesla Pre Highland Model 3

I've emailed/rang most the top clubs and never had any sass thrown at me, not all of them offer GUI rates. The rates can change year on year and season on season so it would be a lot of work maintaining a full list!

Lads, the GUI is gone nearly five years now. 🤣

If the green fee is €30-€75 it tends to be the same for most players.

Where "GUI / Golf Ireland" rates really come in is on the more premium courses that visitors want to play.

EG Rossapenna / Ballyliffin, Sligo, Enniscrone etc where the Golf Ireland rate can be substantially cheaper (Enniscrone visitor €235, Golf Ireland rate as low as €80)

Rates are constantly changing (upwards mostly) and club websites tend to be badly maintained. Always best to ring the pro shop.

Regular members clubs don't tend to have a deal. Open comp days are your best green fees or off-peak/winter. The courses catering to tourism with big fees are the ones that have significant discounts. Some won't publish it though.
