Guys excuse the **** drawing long time since i drew anything out !

Top pic is my previous wiring for my heating ,it had pump, mains and boiler lines wired into a 9 block connector and then onto an overheat and general thermostat that was wired to a timer → to an on /off /timed switch and and pump on/ off switch.

2nd pic is the way my current boiler is wired with no fuss just pump / mains and boiler all connected to overheat thermo and general thermostat. and controlled by the fused switch at the start of the circut, currently used to turn on.

I'm looking to temporarily add a timer back in don't need pump on off etc, until i can get someone out which is complicated for the moment.

question is any reason I can't add the timer to the mains line before it connects to the pump and if not where abouts along the lines would be best to add

And any recommendation on good cheap no fuss 1 channel timer or that is easy to connect up.?
