Replacing roof - Solar options?

We are getting a new roof on a house we are renovating. This involves replacing the sltes etc, pretty standard stuff. My question is what would the cheapest option to integrate solar be?

    a) Buy panels myself and get current roofers to install as they go along. Get current electrician to wire etc.

    b) External company to install panels.

    c) Install solar tiles instead of some of the roof slate?

We will have scaffolding up all around the house for this job so I would like to save some money perhaps on bundling two jobs into one.

Option A. Get the roofers to do it to a reasonable standard and then have the existing electrician do the inverter and NC6 form. Don't forget that he'll need to be paid to submit the form as it's official paperwork.

Great, thank you. I was thinking that.

Next question I guess, where does one source solar panels themselves? Unfortunately I dont have the time really to import from China itself - presuming I even had the motivation to go down the route.

Need to do some proper research on the good brands, system setup etc. I am an electronic engineer myself but haven't done any proper research into this area yet.

For the DIYer, from https://midsummer.ie/ typically. They do mounting rails too.

Just realised its 0% VAT through companies. Could I get my builder friend who is doing other work on our house to buy said panels etc for me through the company to avail of this?

Probably. Best check the details of that offer.
