Front gate stopper

hi so I’ll try to explain best I can i recently got tarmac laid so had to take off the gates and when it was time to put them back on I had to get them adjusted the guy that did it noticed the one of the gates was up against the pillar when opening so he adjusted the pin hole but suggested that I place a block at the end…

hi so I’ll try to explain best I can i recently got tarmac laid so had to take off the gates and when it was time to put them back on I had to get them adjusted the guy that did it noticed the one of the gates was up against the pillar when opening so he adjusted the pin hole but suggested that I place a block at the end of gate when opening in case a strong gust of wind come and take some of the impact.i was thinking putting one of those gate stoppers in put I’m afraid if a strong gust of wind come it might tear up the tarmac what do people think.
