Bosch professional stuff is very good.

I've heard numerous people say Aldi done a palm router a few years ago and it was as good as the professional ones. Havnt seen them in it since as I would he interested in a palm one

Nothing really, probably just a bit of diy.

Buy a Katsu 1/4 router for a quarter of the price.

Cheap as chips and does the job every bit as well as its expense cousins. Particularly if its for "…just a bit of diy."

I have an erbauer one, I bought it to get me out of a pinch one day and I use it more than my makita. Can't fault it and if it's for DIY more than good enough

I used the Katsu for a while. Its grand for very small jobs.

The biggest problem i found is that threaded clasp that holds the collar at height is of poor quality and as you move the router over the piece the collar can slip driving the bit into the piece and making a bags of the job. i ended up spending more time making sure the collar was tight enough than using it.

Its very light and I found a huge difference when I bought the Millwalkee 1/4 inch router ( about 5 times the price bare). But happy enough as it is really a once off purchase and I have a battery set.

More power, stable collar, heavier tool( which I find better for this tool) and allow for micro adjustment of height.
