Homeowners Not Allowed at Snag Check—Is This Standard Practice?

    Hi everyone!

I'm getting very close to finalising the purchase of our new-build home, and we're currently working through the snag list.
A few issues came up during the initial inspection, mainly with the subfloor OSB boards, which were quite raw and had noticeable bumps. We also found that the floor in one of the upstairs bedrooms wasn’t level.
Our engineer is scheduled to meet the site manager on-site to review these issues, which we’ve been told should now be resolved. We asked to be present for the inspection, but our engineer advised that it’s standard procedure for homeowners not to attend.
Just wondering, has anyone else experienced this? Is it really normal not to be allowed on-site during the snag resolution check?

    Thank you

    It’s not uncommon.
move snagged with and without the new owners but it completely depends on the builder.

it’s a construction site so the builder doesn’t want to have to deal with Joe soaps on site basically. Induction, Safe Pass, PPE etc etc

I’m starting to hear more often than not, that the buyers are not present.
