I've a signed photograph of 'Rocky' winning the Mile in Landsdown, Saturday 16th July, 1949. He probably rubbed shoulders with Bannister, Lundy etc. GRMA

Maybe John Joe Barry? National mile champion in 1949. Not sure where the 'Rocky' comes from.

Dad was also a middle distance runner (in less exalted orbits) who ran for Tipp., and a small few years younger than JJB. He got to go to the London Olympics as a fan. The photo was in his collection.
