We live on a noisy road. Not cars. Mainly young kids and their parents out for hours and hours, shouting, screaming and having the craic.

Our driveways that are tiny so no room to put a hedge so it just noisy in the rooms that face out to the road. Thinking of upgrading the windows from double glazed to triple glazed. Something similar for front door. Anyone in a similar situation do this and did it help?

House was 2011 build, ber b1 so not like windows are crap they are good.

Moving house is not an option unfortunately.

    We have the same issue.

Try replacing the seals on the windows first. YouTube has good DIY tutorials. They shrink over the years so let more noise in.

And a lot of the noise comes in around the edge of window and the wall, if it was fitted quickly or poorly. Are there any strips of edging at the window? If so, peel one back and see if there are gaps between the window and the wall. You could then seal all those with a suitable low-expansion expanding foam.
