Where do people get rid of old scrap machinery? I have a few bits here to get rid of. The biggest is an old slurry tanker thats sucked in. The fame wheels, pump etc seem good but I have not use for those and no interest in removing them. Is it best to just get a scrap metal company to collect?

That's what I do anyway. If they are in relatively working or have useful parts I know of ones who would put them into the machinery auction at the mart. But if they don't sell you'll have to go back and collect. That's why I just sell direct into the scrap man.

Throw the slurry tank on done deal or Facebook someone will give u a couple of hundred for it. Scrap is well back price wise at the minute if it's only a couple of ton of stuff you'll probably get nothing for it if they send a lorry

    +1

Anything large near complete stick on Donedeal or Adverts etc. I got rid of a number of old trailers and a sucked in tanker this way. There was a lot of inquiries for the tanker, lad that bought it wanted to just cut the top off and make a flat lid for transporting meal.

One man's scrap is another man's treasure,, stick tanker on done deal, I'd buy it myself if you were near kilbeggan, have made a good few turf trailers from collapsed tankers.

TThe objective of giving it to gaa is to support the organization. The gaa certainly wouldnt be giving anyone a few euro

    Export.

Same as above, try donedeal, state the facts.

Some.lad might have a right good chassis and do a changeover.

What year is it and where abouts is the corrosion. Know of a couple that plated/repaired about 5 to 8 years ago and still going strong.

I saw on Facebook some crowd up north trillick autos iirc with a galvanized chassis for a land rover. You buy the chassis n swap everything over.

I'd get one for my land cruiser if anyway reasonable. Might be worth enquiring for your Hilux

An offal big job stripping a land cruiser body over to a new chassis, seen it with my own eyes

there’s a few spots all over the chassis

The tow bar has to come off too not worth a shite to me if I can’t tow anything

Was repaired two years ago but back again

    It’s an 08

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.
