Absolutely delighted to pass my full A test, no more L vest! For anyone who's test is coming up soon here is a few pointers that helped me:

    1. Make sure your bike (and your bike clothing) is reasonably clean and everything works properly.
    2. Know your road signs well and go over the typically asked questions in the Rules Of The Road.
    3. Know your bike, where do you check oil level, brake fluid, tyre condition etc.
    4. Be fresh and well rested for the test, be confident.
    5. Know your correct road positions.
    6. Practice slow maneuvers well, u turn, riding at walking pace etc.
    7. Do a pretest, this is money well spent and will highlight areas you need to watch.
    8. Observation (very important) - safety checks, mirrors, signaling etc all done at the right time.
    9. Watch your speed (not too slow either)
    10. Stay calm, listen to the tester and focus.
    11. When you hear the word 'passed' and you are handed your cert its a nice feeling, all your preparation has paid off!!
