    Hi,

We have noticed these tiny bugs on the wall of our bedroom. They're about the size of a grain of salt or pepper. They don't hop but crawl quickly when approached. I used a magnifying glass to take the photo then I zoomed in on my phone. I hope someone can help please

I'm going to say that going by it's size, that it's most likely a dust mite.

Vacuuming frequently with a HEPA filter and cleaning down the walls and skirting, plus washing the bed linen, is part of the process for limiting their extent, but the honest answer is also that we have lived with dust mites since the beginning of time. So no matter what you do they will be ever-present. You just need to clean to keep their numbers low.

That looks like it could be a Tick, have you a dog, live near a park or the country, can be very dangerous if someone gets infected by one. You could take it to a vet, hope OP is correct and it’s just a dust mite. Has similarities to a Tick though.

Or is it a woodworm maybe ?

Would this be a better photo? I took it recently in a hotel, as at first I thought it might have been a bed bug or a tick. As far as I can find though, it's just a beetle.

Yours doesn't really look fat enough to a bed bug or a tick.

But I thought dustmite can't be seen by the naked eye, we can see these, they are like a tiny dot

    Could be woodworm.

    Correction: Booklice and not dustmite.

    Hope it helps

Time to put childish things aside.

Booklice tend to be a little paler in colour than bed bugs, and have bigger brains from all the reading.

Agreed, but they may have diet related colouring.

One of the tests for bedbugs is the crush-test. They dont readily crush due to their exoskeleton, while bookworms do.

Download a simple app called pictureInsect . Point your camera at this or any other insect, take a picture and the app will tell you what it is and everything about it.
