Lads, looking for some advice. I'm looking to purchase a watch from Stirling Timepieces inn the UK, does anyone here know what the Customs import rates are to bring in a watch from the UK? The price of the watch will come in and about the 600 Euro mark including their delivery charge.

    Based on this: https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/consumer/shopping/buying-online-from-uk-after-brexit/#89747f

… its 23% VAT on entry to Irish shores + customs duty fees on items over 150 euro which varies based on certain other factors.

However when I look at somewhere like Creation Watches (UK based seller) it shows all duties are 29% which is not inline with that Citizens information source. Its confusing.

Also i've heard some sellers can lets say reinterpret? what the money value of the item is to soften the import / VAT duty hit on the buyer somewhat but thats just vague speculation on my part i'm sure … Some sellers include the VAT hit on their pricing.

So I guess what I'm saying is its hard to tell exactly what additional costs you'll encounter.

You're going to get hit with 23% vat plus some handling fee of a fiver or so, minimum. On your 600 quid allow another 150 at least.
