    Hi,

I would love to know if there is a buddy system for learner drivers in Ireland?? As a learner driver I find it almost impossible to get a full licence driver to come with me so I can get more experience on the road, and im safe to say im not the only one in this situation.

I really would like if someone would be able to sit with me while I go around wexford town, the roundabouts, the hill start, junctions, possible test routes, I've had all my lessons and am getting extra lessons as I really want to sit my test when I get my invitation.

So if anyone can help me or who ever else needs it, please message me as I'd be so grateful for any help at all.

    Thanks

    Good idea!

Put up a few notices in your area, or ask your instructor if they know anyone suitable. Would you pay €10 per hour?

Hi, I have asked my instructor and she said she would not reccommend anyone else as they all teach differently, So I have to take her word for it, I would be willing to pay €10 an hour, a few hours a day a few days a week if I could find anyone, I have dropped a few hints to neighbours about needing someone to come out with me, maybe I am being to subtle about it :) but I will keep dropping hints to people and its only for 10 weeks till I can take my test and hoping I can pass it first time that is.

This sounds like it would be idea for a retired person, i.e. somebody who has time on their hands and would still like to 'volunteer' their services. Keeps their minds active and gets them out of the house. Is their a 'Men's Shed' type organisation locally? Maybe then might be able to suggest someone.

Stick up a few notices locally, as I said above. Mention you will pay for their time.

When I said ask your instructor, I didn't mean ask for a recommendation to another instructor! All you need is someone who has a current full licence for over 2 years.

The Mens Shed sounds like a really good idea, there is one in the next village I must get in touch with them. I understand what you mean about the Instructor, I only asked her for reccommendations to see if she could fit some more lessons in with me. I have tried to get full licence people to sit with me, I can get someone now and again, but I'd love it to be more than it is, but look I am working on it.
