What is this?

While replacing the front passenger window motor/regulator on my wifes 2010 Nissan Qashqai, this piece of trim dropped out of the door skin.

Any ideas what it is or where it needs to go back?

Looks like it should slide into something and get retained by the central fork but I can't seem to see/feel where it should go.

It might be to stop someone popping the locks with a coat hanger and door may work perfectly fine without it.

I think the day of doing that might be gone . Last 3 cars mk4 golf ans 2 A4 b8 were all deadlocked when locked by the central locking. Wouldn't open by pulling the handle or know
