Wipers Screech and then Stop

    Hi All,

When I turn my wipers on, they screech and eventually come to a stop in the middle of my windscreen (i.e. not at the bottom of my windscreen).

I have replaced the wiper blades and I have sprayed the interiors with WD40, both to no avail.

See and hear below example video.

    Wipers screech and then stop

Can anyone tell me what exactly is wrong and what exact part, if any, needs to be replaced/amended?

Renault Clio Dynamic 1.5 Diesel 2008

    Thanks

Sounds like a motor issue. But I'm not an expert. I replaced a wiper motor on a Fiat Punto a few years ago - it was noisy too & struggled to move the wipers.

With limited skill, I was able to replace it myself. Google all the way.

    Spindles are likely seized

Most cars now comes as a kit with motor and arms as one unit and sounds like the cancelling device does not know when to stop.

Put hands on both wiper arms and feel for vibrations or roughness.
