what loophole are you on about ? this gets put about every now and again might as well bring in bicycle test at this rate. I'm sure it will eventually come in at some point but some bikes will be interesting to inspect from a modification point of view !!, it comes up every now and again this **** .

I know there was some resistance in France to this ,did that ever go ahead i know they u turned on it at some point.

I'm not sure what it gains here , we have a small enough network of bikes shops, mechanics ,its low numbers hobby for most that is very sparsely spread out ,the majority of peoples bikes are very well maintained and barely driven. People know the risks and maintain their bikes fairly well ,an inspection wouldn't improve anything on any bike that I know of or any I have seen crashed in the last few years outside of stolen ones.

I'm not keen on anyone touching my bike let alone an nct guy possibly dropping it and i know quiet a few would be the same with their Harley's etc ,would love to see what happens when they do eventually drop one !

I'm sure they'll be liable , although they could try say the damage was already there unless it's very obvious.

Perhaps this is just the E.U who feel it only exists to regulate and create more bureaucracy ? I mean they never seem to stop wanting to regulate and create more laws that effect every country. Pulling power from local Governments and we have a Government that never stands up to this bureaucracy, ever.

I still make the point that driver/rider behaviour is probably the single biggest contribution to accidents and car drivers seem to be getting worse and adding more tech to compensate won't work, it doesn't work.

usual anti-EU crap, but this is an area the EU has agreed is best left up to each member state.

Unfortunately that also applies to wire rope…

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.

Its in here in France since last year but in France NCT or Ct Controle Technique is carried out on cars by specialised garages—so only a few have taken on NCT testing for motos and its a joke— an emission test but after that a feeble look around with a torch-no test of brakes or bearings. 65Euro waste of time
