New job but fear I am not going to be paid

I started working as a relief support worker a month ago after returning from abroad. The work is with intellectual disability. There is a system where the shifts one is given are put up online and then sent to payroll on the 25th of the month.

There were two different managers involved in giving me shifts. They put some of the shifts up online but not others. The shift that I have done yesterday is not up online so I wont get paid for it or have any shift this week to get a stamp for. I am going for elective surgery in November so need to get paid or be signing on. I have contacted both managers about the shifts I have done not being put up online for payroll but got no response.

I feel really stressed about this, and also find the place generally quite stressful. I did some SAMS training in giving medication but have not been able to complete the online portion of it as there have been multiple glitches in their online training platforms. Also, emails on any queries I have re shifts, payment, mandatory courses, all remain unanswered by managers.

I would welcome any advice re my pay and the fact that it is doubtful I will be paid for these shifts now. Also, they have given me shifts for August but I actually can't do these if I am not going to be paid for them. I generally find the place stressful and I was really looking forward to eorking there.

Also, how fo I explain to social welfare that I have not been paid for a week within a month due to company's disorganusation/incompetence.

If you work on the same site as your managers, go talk to them in person if they ignore all other forms of communication. If not, ring them and try to get them on the phone to at least get their attention (though make sure to follow up any phone conversations with an email summarising what was discussed at least, and maybe consider recording the call if you need to; that is legal as long as one person involved in the conversation, i.e. you, consents).

Also, how fo I explain to social welfare that I have not been paid for a week within a month due to company's disorganusation/incompetence.

Not sure what you mean by this; this isn't related to social welfare. If your intent was to claim benefits due to not being paid on time, that won't be possible, unfortunately; as long as you're working, that affects your benefits the same way no matter when you actually get paid for the work in question. Your recourse would be to file a complaint with the WRC if your employer isn't paying you properly for your work. If you eventually resign from the job because you weren't paid properly, then you might be eligible for Jobseekers (Benefit or Allowance) without a waiting period, since that would likely be viewed as good cause for quitting your job, but you can't claim JB/JA for a week during which you worked more the eligibility threshold just because your employer didn't pay you for that work on time.

If you're in dire straits and need money fast due to your employer's failure to pay you, you could try applying for an Additional Needs Payment under the circumstances, but that would be a one-off thing, not a regular payment.
