    Hi folks

Sorry for the stupid question but how would I remove these 2 screws from the rear? As you can see from the second image a screwdriver can't be used at the front because it's just a small silver plate.

They look like they have an 8mm or 10mm nut on them, just screw that off using a suitable socket!

Take a look for "box spanner set" on B&Q (diy.ie) you'd need to know the size of the nut you can see in there.

I replaced our oven element recently looked very similar layout to yours. iirc There weren't any screws in the back. In fact you could do the whole job from the front (inside the oven) because the wires were long enough to pull forward to the front.

Cheers. The problem is I can't un screw it from the front because there's just a small metal cover plate. I had to pull the oven out from its enclosure but all I see are the nuts.

What I would do next is compare the original with the replacement part. Does the new one have bolt holes in the same locations? I had some problem getting the screws out on mine as some of them were so rusted I had to drill them out. I then replaced all of them with one size larger stainless steel pan head screws. This is what I bought to cover several possible scenarios.

Wake me up when it's all over.
