Who else likes Root Beer? Haven't had it since last in the states. A superior beverage I must say with the kind of medicine tang and quite addictive after a few cans. Love it.

How does one go about acquiring it in Ireland?

    Any stores sell it?

Dunnes and SuperValue both sell it I believe.

Really? Never seen it in either in Dublin anyway. I'll have to look harder.

Curiously an Australian brand. Maybe it's more popular there. Was hoping to find on the shelf in the first instance and would have expected one of the American brands. Good stuff, might order a few.

I’ve never tried the Aussie stuff, but what I imagine the American stuff you’re after is A&W Root Beer, which you used to be able to get in Fallon & Byrne, and probably is stocked in most of the American Candy shops in various places

Saw that Australian root beer in Centra, Tarmonbarry - they also had Ginger beer from the same brand

The Australian Root beer is called Bundaberg. They make root and ginger beer. In my opinion its the best I have tasted even through it is a bit more expensive than Old Jamaican.

Fond of A&W [Diet] Root Beer, last time I got it (a slab!) was in The Candy Lab on Fownes St, Temple Bar - facing the former Central Bank. Tried many brands over in the States and one stood out for true flavour - Thomas Kemper, made in Oregon

Tastes like medicinal mouthwash. Never stopped me from downing gallons of A&W. Kinda like Twiglets in that I *know* it's disgusting but I keep going anyway.

Aldi sell the Australian stuff as a special. The root beer 🍺 s nice but odd. The ginger beer is delish.

I didn't think you were this obsessed with awful American things to want to drink their awful soft drinks too.

Tried it a few years ago due to it being described in Stephen Kings 11.22.63 novel in the opening chapters and he made it sound like liquid heaven.

So disappointed when I tasted it myself, excessively sweet (so sweet it gave me a headache) and it tasted like coke mixed with Listerine.

Tried it in my J1 in the early nineties. Tasted like cough syrup

Is it like that burdock and dandelion drink? Tastes like cough medicine.

King of soft drinks. The Bundaberg is in Dunnes in Blanchardstown, and Fallon & Byrne sell regular and diet A&W. Not sure why all other branches of Dunnes don't sell it - it's always flying off the shelves in Blanch.
