    Hi,

I recently has a system pump install to improve the water pressure within the house. The issue i am having is that the toilet cistern downstairs is very slow to fill after flushing. Looking online, it appears to be a "fill valve" issue. My question is, am i better just buying a new float / cistern mechanism?

With the extra pressure coming on the system , its possible that there could have been grit or another obstruction dislodged and made its way to the opening at the valve thus partially blocking it . Disconnect the valve and clear the pipe before you do anything .

Is the downstairs cistern connected to the pump or does it get its water from a header tank in the roof?

Wake me up when it's all over.

All the cold water supply downstairs (bar the kitchen sink cold supply) are fed off this pump.
