Dimmable table lamps problem

    Hi

I have a set of Bedside dimmable lamps.

They came from Ikea and came with there own bulbs.

They are now all blown, after a lifetime of use.

    I got a replacement ( Also works with Ikea models x x x )

But it started humming !! after a short while on.

Ordinary bulbs don't work at all.

    My Idea !!..

    Rewire the lamp..

    Is this possible ?

If so, how difficult is it ?

If I rewire, how do you incorporate the dimmer feature ?

Or am I just wasting my time ?

Any ideas would be more than welcome.

    Thanks

    Jay

The dimmers and your new LED bulbs are incompatible, causing the above (don't continue to use them as will probably fail completely in a short time). I assume the dimmers are only suitable for incandecent bulbs and not suitable for even dimmer-capable LEDs. The only easy solution is find these type incandescent bulbs again that someone might have in storage, if no longer sold! . What type of bulbs do these lamps use?
