Case plating advice

I have an old, inexpensive watch that is of significant sentimental value that I need some advice on.

Believe it or not, after 35 years, it's quartz movement still works reliably.

However, after at least 20 years of solid wear in harsh conditions, the base metal case plating has worn away in many places.

What are the options here? Is replating a wildly expensive endeavour?

Is there an equivalent of Hammerite I can use on it?

    Am I dreaming?
