Smell of Weed in a House

A relative of mine needs a bigger house for their family. They have found a house for sale in an area they like, which has the necessary number of bedrooms that they need.

But there's a problem. A son of the current owner smoked weed in his bedroom and the smell in that room is repulsive. There is a whiff of the stuff in other rooms also, but it is fairly mild.

Any suggestions on how to get rid permanently of that smell? How big a job would it be? Could they do it themselves or would they have to employ professionals? If there is no reasonable solution, they could not buy the house.

Surely the smell is just in all the furniture/furnishings (bedding, carpets curtains etc) that are in that room? get rid of all those and repaint the room should surely sort it..

They’re probably a nugget or two still there if the smell is that strong. Grab a 6 pack and start looking.
