Should I be concerned about this meter box?

I posted a picture of my meter box on a Facebook group because I had a simple question about a CT clamp from my solar setup after getting an EV charger installed. Just for context - I don’t have any knowledge of electrical work.

Anyway - the setup got savaged in the comments but without much in the way of helpful information.

Does this meter box have any safety concerns? How about compliance?

I’m told the box in the bottom right should not be allowed in the cabinet - is that true?

If there is an issue - who do I talk to? ESB Networks? Thanks a million for any help. The comments concerned me tbh.

The box is allowed in the cabinet providing there is significant room which in yours there is, What you have there in the box is a RCD with Surge protection and RCBO for the charger, Normally you'd have 16mm tails for the charger but have seen them with 10mm. If concerned get a periodic inspection done and that will find any potential issues.

it’s not permitted inside the esb meter box as it’s bigger than the rec requirements as per page 17

It should be placed on the wall adjacent to the meter box

Stand corrected, But yeah always good to have periodic inspection done on stuff like this to make sure your complying with regs and spot any potential hazardous issues better to be safe than sorry…

Thanks both - I will raise the issue of the box inside the cabinet with the owner of the installation company.

Anything else jumping out that I should get sorted?

I just seen the end of your post o.p

You should speak to whoever installed the board in your meter cabinet. There was conflicting information whether or not this was permitted some time back but safe electric clarified it in this newsletter
