    Hi all

I live in a semi-detached house in Dublin 12, and I have a converted garage that’s currently in use as a living space. I’m interested in adding two Velux windows to the side-facing room of the garage conversion to improve natural light and ventilation.

I’d appreciate guidance and support on a few points:

    1. Planning Permission
      • As the windows will be on the side elevation, I understand planning permission may be required.
      • If so, do I need to get architectural drawings done?
      • Is this something that’s difficult to handle myself, or is professional help essential?
      • Any idea on typical costs for submitting a basic planning application?
    2. Velux Window Installation Costs
      • What would be a ballpark estimate for the supply and fit of two Velux windows (standard size, nothing custom or oversized)?
      • Any recommendations for reliable contractors or things to watch out for?

    Thanks in advance

    Pat

Cost to supply and fit the 2 velux would be from 1800 upwards depending on the size of the windows and how much internal trimming is needed
