Best way to pay for a garage sourced car?

Hi all,

Just wondering if using a Bank Draft or doing an electronic funds transfer is more preferable when paying for a garage sourced car?

ie- does one offer a better paper trail than the other if for any reason there were issues down the line which meant you had to get back onto the garage,for example.

In general for sums over 15k which method is more commonly used or preferred by garages?

If its a reputable garage, then card, debit or credit. Provides far more protection an eft or a bank draft.

There is no confusion if it's arrived or not, money taken instantly and both parties have a receipt

If there are 'issues' with the car afterwards, how you paid the garage will be irrelevant.

One can do a 'chargeback' on a credit/debit card, but not with cash/draft

Depends on the bank though. There may be a cap on how much can be paid via a card daily.

That is really not a thing, once the amounts are large, the vendor will object and they usually have a strong enough case to prevent it as well.
