    This can't be good for the market. Those considering going EV (me) will now wait to see what happens!

    This isnt the first time this idea has been floated.

    I wonder if the scrappage value (notionally lets say 2K) would just be lumped into the cost of the car - so a car costing 38K is now 40K ?

    To be honest with you though, 2K wouldnt make or break a decision on a new car for me.

    Unless you were in the position of driving a car worth less than 2K, already have decided to go ev, and can hold off until the new year or whenever.

    Yes, I think that it is the uncertainty caused by the announcement that will cause problems, if any.

    Also the nature of the car to be scrapped will be a factor?
