VW Sharan - entertainment system replacement

I have a 2016 VW Sharan and the radio system stopped working a while ago, it just cycles through a starting up screen. I called up an independent VW specialist and described the problem. He told me that he can get the part but it's ridiculously expensive (well over a grand) and that I'd be better off getting an aftermarket system. He doesn't do them though.

I'm looking at this but also realising that I haven't got a clue: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Volkswagen-2012-2018-Bluetooth-Steering-Controls/dp/B0C7W2LLQF?th=1

Anyone got any tips for what I should be looking for?

Just contact someone who installs radios. Such as Radio King etc. or Search ‘CarPlay Ireland’ on Instagram or Tiktok etc.

I.C.E. on Sandford Road in Ranelagh would be able to sort you out, family run business been there since the early 80’s 👍🏼

You could try a car dismantlers and get a second hand one. Im sure that headunit is found on a number of other VW models. No messing with fittings at the back of the radio then, although you will need the code for the radio. Codes can be got via the likes of ebay.
