Play my Steam games on console?

    Hi,

Are there ways to play my Steam games on a console? If I were to buy a console to do so, would it matter what console or are some better fits than others for this purpose?

    Cheers.

    Jim

Not possible on a console like a PS5/XBox, but I think you can connect a steam deck (or other PC handheld) to a dock and have it showing on the TV

You can play Big Picture mode on PC that effectively turns your steam library into console but you need to be on PC.

Also you can get the steam deck handheld , use it as is or connect to a tv/monitor which again is practically a console.

Do you just want your Steam games on your living room TV?

Lots of smart TVs have the SteamLink app to stream from your PC. I run my LG C1 off an Apple TV which also has the app. You just need a solid connection to your PC.

TBH, the Steamdeck is the better option.

If you can get your hands on one, there is an actual steamlink that you can use too if the tv you are using isn't modern enough to provde access to apps. It's basically just a hdmi hookup with wireless and ethernet connectivity built in.You might be able to find one on CEX or Ebay or the like now as Valve stopped making them about 6 years ago now, but don't go paying silly money for one; they weren't that expensive to begin with - think €50 not €150.
