Is anybody very good at Adobe Illustrator?

I'm new to the program but not a total newbie and i've worked a little with vector graphics before.

In this case, i have a raster layer that features white Line Art, and i'm trying to an image trace to convert it automatically into Paths.
But when I do, everything goes white.
