Which Insurance company will add a named driver with a recent claim?

    Hi everyone,

I just got a new car and need to add my wife to it as a named driver.

When trying to get quotes, I keep getting turned away as my wife just cracked the front bumper of our main car (under her own policy, settled already, nothing serious at all) a few months ago. She has max NCB still as she has NCB protection, but she can't even be added as a named driver now.

Aviva said I should check back in 3 years.. Axa similar story. Allianz - that's where her own policy is with full NCB referred the case to the underwriters with no timeframe given.

I even tried reversing the situation with Aviva and make this car insured under her own name with me as the named driver. No joy…

Comparison sites don't work as the car was just registered, so it won't come up at all. Any web site with a manual option turned me away because of the named driver claim situation.

…I shouldn't even mention we have a learner who we need to add to this car too and Aviva was my plan all along.

At this stage I'd be happy if I could insure my wife at all.

Which company should I try please?
