Identify this chick

While walking across bogland here in Connemara this chick ran out from under my feet. I happened to have my phone in my hand at the time so I was able to snap a quick photo before it hid in a clump of heather.

Could anyone identify what species it is, I was thinking maybe pheasant but I could be way off.

Edit: Having googled images of pheasant chicks I'm pretty sure now that's what it was.

Given the area you were in, my money would be on a young grouse chick.

That's actually why I posted it, because I wondering if it could be a grouse chick.

However, I haven't seen any grouse on that bogland since around 12 years ago while the dogs regularly flush pheasants up there.

To me that's a newly hatched pheasant chick.
