    Hi,

Time for a new side wooden gate.

    Span is 86 cm wide

Should I buy this one … https://brooksonline.ie/square-timber-utility-door-1800mm-x-900mm-um0170 or similar and trim circa 10 cms off the sides (concerned I affect the structural intregity too much)

    My calcs - vertical side boards to walls 4cm x 2 = 8cm So gate width approx 8 minus = 78

or make one from scratch ? What size wood will I use?

I have the tools and my carpentry skill are average +

    What say you?

Make your own if you have the gear. You know you want to. Will be better quality, but don’t bank on any savings.
