Just wondering for anyone who's had their lie angles adjusted on irons have you seen much difference in ball flight, shot shape, etc. I haven't had mine checked in years and thinking it might be worth getting done .

I was fitted into new irons last year and was having a bad swing day during the fitting and was sending everything left. I knew this was a result of my swing and not the clubs but the fitter insisted on fitting me into 2 degree flat irons which were already a lot flatter than the set I had.

Finally got them and couldn't hit them. If I managed to catch one, it would go right, VERY right. Right into a bush most of the time.

I couldn't play a draw to save my life which is my natural shape. I went out to the golf workshop at Celbridge Driving Range and had them adjusted and it was genuinely night and day.

Long story short, definitely worth getting it looked at. Especially if you play forged irons because the softer metal means it can be slightly bent and the angle could be off if you've had them a while.

Ya a lot of that ties in with my thinking. Probably something that's overlooked a lot but if after moving a few degrees could make a fairly sizeable difference

Years ago now but I went from about 1.5° upright to 2° flat

Stopped the kind of ball flight that looks like it’s taking a 90° bend on a road. You can overpower it but initially it will feel like you can’t hit the old shot at all. I probably need my own checked, last year my pro said I could probably go closer to standard.

It’s worth getting your current irons checked for loft and lie if they’re forged, 2 of my irons has gained loft over about 5 years.
