Stopping loxicom due liver issues (dog)

Hi, our 15y/o dog is starting to show signs of liver issues (blood tests) due to long term use of loxicom. We also get her a librela injection, which will probably be monthly now. Vet advises we get her a special food and a supplement, food is €5-50 a tin and supplement is €110 per month. So, we obviously want what is best for our dog, but is anyone aware of any similar foods/supplements that might not be so pricey. She is still full of life and loves her walks, but the arthritis obviously causes her some pain as she limps near the end of walks.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Sorry to hear about your dog(!) 15 is a great age though! Did the vet do an ultrasound? The reason I ask is that I lost my old boy at 14 - he went downhill very quickly and the vets found a mass on his liver 😓 We let him go so I don't know anything about liver diets but I had a kidney dog - I used to get her renal wet food on zooplus and they also have a liver diet (these are 800g cans btw so double vs a standard can from the vets)

I'm assuming it's a liver diet and supplement you need?

Yeah liver diet and supplements, vet is looking to do another blood test in 2 months to see if stopping the loxicom and the new food will drop her liver function back to normal. We knew that long term use of the loxicom carries the risk of liver problems, but worth the risk to see her pain free.

Your link brings me to the exact food that has been recommended so thank you for that.
