    hi all,

i was gifted a bosch washer a bit ago as my washer was playing up but I managed to coax it on and on until this weekend as i got fed up with the problem.

The new washer was left untouched in the corner. I removed the bolts and connected it to the water and mains. The display came up then went to the Programme screen. I couldnt start the programme so I read the book for help. The Start/Pause button flashes but as hard / soft / short or long a press I do it does nothing.

I disconnected the power and checked the water connection, there is water from the tap but its hard to tell if the water is getting to the machine as the hose doesnt seem to be filled. The powder drawer is dry.

I then realized that i had to pour 1 litre of water into the drawer and run a Drum Clean. I put the water in selected Drum Clean the display changes to Drum Clean yet the Start/Pause button remains inoperative - still flashing.

I turned the washer off and plug it out from the mains and left it for hours and then tried again to do the Drum Clean but same problem with the flashing button.

I then turned it off and plugged out and pressed the on /off dial button to power down any remaining power. The drum light flashed a number of times then stopped flashing, the display went off. I plugged it in, there is a "priming" noise from the drawer area as always , the display comes on but occasionally it get stuck showing 8888 and the other lights and symbols and doesnt move to the selected programme screen. I unplug and plug it back in and it moves to the correct screen.

Im at a complete loss - how do i cure the problem - how can reset the initial Drum Clean procedure and carry on?

    Regards
