FTTH installers

So I ordered FTTH via Sky, got a message to schedule the install with openeir, guy in a circet van arrived - he said he needed two power points beside the existing conduit - but the conduit ends in the hall where an extension to the telephone cable is routed under the floor to the existing modem from Vodaphone, no power points there and it's not a place to be putting them anyway.

We discussed putting it in the attic, this would require a small trench of maybe 4/5 metres but I would have to cut/dig this (I'm willing to do that) but he wouldn't give me a starting point for the trench (i.e. where to start the trench beside the existing conduit) so it looks like I'm going to have to cancel for now - how much of this is circet / openeir supposed to do? I can't be the first person to not have power beside the old phone point?

House is 70's build, Limerick area, everything is ducted - power / phone etc

Sounds like he did everything he was supposed to do.

They don't do ducting, that'll be your responsibility.

If you can, connect into the existing duct and run a new duct to a location where you can run the cable up into the attic. Maybe install a small access box at the junction of the old and new duct to allow a smooth transition between the two ducts when pushing the new cable through.
