    Hi all,

I have been a superintendent at the state exams for the past 7 years, moving around each year to different schools. When I didn't get my letter this year I rang and was told they have pushed out the parameters of experience required to 9 years and I only have 8, that's why I didn't get a school. I'm very disappointed, I might get a school yet but just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat?

Nine years seems harsh. Many retired teachers are getting the job.

    9 years teaching experience?

Why are they prioritising experienced teachers calling it seniority. Is it just typical cronyism in Ireland.

They're supposed to prioritise part time and unemployed teachers but they prioritise people in long term full time employment who are already getting paid for the summer.

They are always stuck for superintendents. That seems bizarre.

Plenty of my younger colleagues with way less than 8 years got appointed. One of them I reckon has just 3 years.
