I don't have any accountancy background, but I qualified for the next stage (online assessment/case study) by "

"Hold a primary honours degree at minimum 2.1 (at least Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications) in any discipline"

I'm just curious if the learning curve will be too steep for me. I am currently 46 and self-employed, but looking for opportunities in the public service.

Does anyone have any experience of anyone going into this kind of role with no accountancy/public service background?

Does anyone know anything about the assessment/case study type to prepare for in this case?

Hi, I did this case study too just wondering if you have heard anything about results of the test? The wait is killing me

I received a msg yesterday about the next stage interview. Was assuming I didn't make it past the assessment but must have done ok. No accounting background but have a Computer Science Degree.

Am mid 40s and have 20 years IT experience. Looking for a change of domain really.

Heyyy, has anyone else received notice that they passed their interview? Or does anyone know how many they tend to take on?

I placed in the top 10 on the OOM and have to provide evidence of eligibility.

Congrats!! Me too! Provided the eligibility material, wonder when we’ll hear something?

I placed 10 in batch 1, I don’t know if everyone is in the one batch or if the batches are created based on the results we got in the assignment, anyone know if 10 is good enough to get a job??

    Hi All,

Does anyone have any information about what it's like to work in the C&AG? I found out I'm on the panel but don't really know an awful lot about what they're like to work for as a government department.

Hey everyone, has anyone heard anything back after submitting the eligibility documents?

I submitted eligibility and was then sent an email re "You are now under consideration for a position" along with Garda Vetting forms.

May I ask when you received the email and Garda vetting forms, and if there was a closing date mentioned in them?”

I received the email in early Sept and there was a 3-day window to send on and complete vetting and other forms.
