Hi there, hope everyone is well,I have a question about gaa plus,if I get gaa plus, will I have access to league matches when the league is back or would I just have access to championship games?I made my mind up I'm going to get it in.but is it worth getting it in for the rest of the championship this year? getting back to the league, the gaa could make a lot of money if they made all league games available on gaa plus, fans of weaker counties would get a chance to see their team play.and the gaa would possibly make a profit from selling more merchandise it's a goldmine that the gaa should take advantage of, however they would have hardly any one at gaa grounds because everyone would watch the matches at home.that's my opinion anyway,so should I get gaa plus in for the rest of 2025 season? thanks.

Whether or not it's worth subscribing for the remainder of this year is a question you'll have to answer for yourself. They've already shown 23 of the matches from this year's schedule, and there are just 17 to go. Only one of them will be hurling - that's either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your own preferences! The full list is here - https://www.gaaplus.ie/championship-2025

Either way, a subscription now will only cover you for the remainder of this year. It's not a 12-month subscription from the date you take it out. So even if they did show League matches next year, you wouldn't be entitled to them.

I don't expect they will show League matches anyway. The former GAA GO never did, because of the other deals in place with TG4 and RTE. Whether or not they "should" show League matches is a whole other story, and part of a whole bigger picture.

I was able to access league matches on Gaago earlier this year based on a subscription that I paid in december 2023.

A small number of league games, granted

    In December 2023?

I know that subscriptions for 2024 would have gone on sale in December 2023 with some sort of pre-Christmas discount, like they always did. Possible then that they allowed those subscriptions to roll over to the first few months of this year as well, before the new GAA+ was established.

But interesting that you could use it to watch League matches. Are you in Ireland, or somewhere abroad?

Ye, this was in Ireland. They seemed to let it roll over pending the introduction of the new GAA plus. As far as I remember they were using BBC commentary teams as they were mostly Ulster teams matches....

Thanks. I knew there were some League matches shown on it, but thought these were just the ones being shown by RTE or TG4 anyway, and that they were only available online to people outside of Ireland (and I realise I should have been clearer about this when I wrote earlier that they "never" showed League matches!).

Possible that similarly, any Football League matches being shown by BBC Northern Ireland were available to people on this side of the border. To be honest, I wouldn't have noticed that myself. Am very much a hurling person rather than a football one, and would have had very little interest in those particular matches anyway.
