What's causing loss of signal?

I'm using an LG tv set to UK for Freesat. Recently I've lost a lot of channels. The missing channels appear to be all channels on frequencies lower than 12GHz. Unfortunately this includes the main channels (BBC, ITV, Channel 4) leaving a very few channels actually working.

Would this be more likely caused by dish miss alignment or by a faulty LNB?

Likely to be faulty LNB rather than misaligned dish if you're receiving all hi-band channels and no lo-band channels.

Hi-band tone switching kicks in at 11.7 GHz.

Thanks Cush. I wouldn't mind attempting to swap out the LNB myself, just need to get ladders that would get me access to the dish.

    Thanks again for the explanation.
