I use field navigator, has a monthly subscription, can connect to your own third party GPS receiver(I just use phone GPS). Only use for fert and spraying. Had an ontrak and sold it, this is good enough for me and miles better than trying to follow your tracks in the field.

Can you pay just over the summer months or is there an annual contract?

Month at a time, cancel anytime.

I use Field Navigator and Garmin Glo receiver. It's OK but the accuracy could be better. I'm only small operator and use for fertilizer spreading and spraying. Have to say I would consider something like Gypsy if it is as accurate as they say it is.

Also have the Garmin glo but don't use it, for some reason it seems slower to follow position than the phone and wanders a bit more.

do you think the field navigator is good enough?

It's no vantage or gypsy, but it's better than just driving round the field guessing.
