2-stage polish gone wrong...

Sorry for the slightly dramatic title but recently got a 2-step polish with some ceramic coating from one of the man with a van set ups through Instagram.

At first seemed well but upon closer inspection looks to be some hazing residue left with clear marks left by rotary polishing tool. When this was raised with the provider later, they replied saying that this was due to the paint being in very bad condition etc. and shouldn't expect too much for a couple hundred. None of this was mentioned prior, during or after the the handover. Basically washing hands of any responsibility.

I have a feeling this is not normal and would appreciate any of your feedback on the images of some parts, thanks!

Looks like a terrible job that will require a proper paint correction by someone who knows what they're doing. Whatever you do don't let those monkeys back at it.

Thanks for the reply, given the initial response of the company, hopefully not, but seems like they might need to go legal route of eg small claims court to get it sorted by a proper set up.

That looks like it's swirled from the actual polishing, he made a complete balls of that. Maybe dirt in the polishing pads but it will have to go to someone that knows what they are doing. Definitely don't let him away with it, I'd take it to another detailer to assess it and go from there

Do you have a before picture?

Are you 100% sure the paint wasn't messed up already and you got a guy to "FIX IT". I could be wrong and sorry if I am but I have seen countless red cars with bad paint over the years.

My thought too. Second picture looks like a paint or primer run on the door edge.

Paint definitely wasn't messed up before. Not pristine but great for a 10 year old car and having normal level of swirl marks and some scratches here and there. Would still look well enough for people to comment on it when washed etc.

The photos below would be closest to the areas we found.
