Licence Renewal Issue

Lads, anyone have any issues with your renewals this year? I'm not actually sure if this is an issue or not. I noticed when looking through the automatically filled out detailson the form, that the permissions/gun club details were not on the form. That section, was just blank.

Thought this was strange, but said to myself, well they have them on file, so shouldn't be an issue. Filled out rest, and went into barracks last week with form, photograph etc.

Standing in line waiting in barracks, and happened to overhear man ahead of me complaining that forms were sent back to him, because permission section wasn't filled out. He said, it was his own land, and its been on his licence for years, with no changes. Guard, said he had no clue, because he wasn't the man who done the licences. When it came to my turn,I mentioned it, knowing that said garda, wouldn't have a clue what I was on about. Fair enough, I understand it's not his area.

Anyway, waiting for either forms to return, or licence. Just wondering is there an issue, or just a coincidence, and I'm reading too much into it.

This is in the Tullamore area, by the way.

I did this before too and the guard called me up asking me to email him a copy of my gun club membership and deer stalking license even though I gave them to them originally so now I just submit them every time.

I think it just covers their own asses as it ticks the box that you have an ongoing and current "good reason" for your gun.

Thanks for the reply. I wouldn't mind, but I actually changed permissions three years ago. Now I'll have to go back to landowner looking for more letters etc. Not that it's a big deal, but you'd be worried that you'd be pi**ing off landowners, looking for letters, and personal details, for every renewal, of each firearm.
